SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Joyce E. Johnson of Waukegan, who passed away on March 3, 2011; and

WHEREAS, Joyce Johnson was born on May 27, 1937, in Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, Joyce Johnson served as the school nurse at Warren High School in Gurnee from 1970 until her retirement in 2004; and

WHEREAS, Joyce Johnson was a very involved member of the Most Blessed Trinity Parish in Waukegan and North Chicago, where she served as an Extraordinary Minister and a Homebound and Hospital Eucharistic Minister; she was a former member of the Parish Council and served on the School Board of the old Holy Family Parish in North Chicago and the Queen of Peace Parish Council in North Chicago; she was also a member of the Lake County Catholic Nurses Association and the Lake County Right to Life organization; and

WHEREAS, Joyce Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Bernice; and

WHEREAS, Joyce Johnson is survived by her husband of 50 years, Ron Johnson; her sons, Jeff Johnson and Ronald (Julie) Johnson Jr.; her daughters, Debbie (Randy) Fabry, Robin (Christopher) Fabry, and Lynn (Douglas) Byron; her grandchildren, Ryan and Hannah Fabry; Allison and Kayce Fabry, Derek and Kyle Johnson, and Courtney and Reilly Byron; and her many extended family members and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Joyce E. Johnson; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joyce Johnson as an expression of our sympathy.
