SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Milton Earl Rasmussen of Princeville, who
4passed away on January 11, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born July 19, 1937, in Peoria, the son of
6Alvin W. and Wilma Metheny Rasmussen; he married Janet K.
7Hohenbery on September 18, 1960, in Peoria; and
 
8    WHEREAS, He was a United States Marine Corps veteran and
9played in the United States Marine Corps Band during the Rose
10Bowl Parade in 1958 and 1959; he was a member of the
11Princeville American Legion Post #248; and
 
12    WHEREAS, He worked as an electrician for Caterpillar
13Tractor Company in Mossville, retiring in 1995; he was a member
14of the Princeville First Presbyterian Church, where he served
15as an elder; he was a member of the Princeville Lion's Club,
16and was an associate member of the Peoria County Republican
17Women; and
 
18    WHEREAS, He was the Princeville Township Precinct
19Committeemen and was the Princeville Village Clerk for 4 years;
20he also was a volunteer driver for the Akron/Princeville
21Ambulance Service; and

1    WHEREAS, Milton Rasmussen is survived by his wife, Janet;
2his sons, Terry (Timie Sue) Rasmussen, Trent Rasmussen, Milton,
3Jr. (Nanette) Rasmussen, and Alvin Rasmussen; his
4grandchildren, Eric (Susanna), Melissa (Wyatt), Gregory,
5Kirsten, Nicole, and Amanda; and his great-grandchildren,
6Rebecca, Grayce, Patrick, and Ethan; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
9his family and friends, the passing of Milton Rasmussen; and be
10it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Milton Rasmussen as a symbol of our
13sincere sympathy.
