SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Milton Earl Rasmussen of Princeville, who passed away on January 11, 2011; and

WHEREAS, He was born July 19, 1937, in Peoria, the son of Alvin W. and Wilma Metheny Rasmussen; he married Janet K. Hohenbery on September 18, 1960, in Peoria; and

WHEREAS, He was a United States Marine Corps veteran and played in the United States Marine Corps Band during the Rose Bowl Parade in 1958 and 1959; he was a member of the Princeville American Legion Post #248; and

WHEREAS, He worked as an electrician for Caterpillar Tractor Company in Mossville, retiring in 1995; he was a member of the Princeville First Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder; he was a member of the Princeville Lion's Club, and was an associate member of the Peoria County Republican Women; and

WHEREAS, He was the Princeville Township Precinct Committeemen and was the Princeville Village Clerk for 4 years; he also was a volunteer driver for the Akron/Princeville Ambulance Service; and

WHEREAS, Milton Rasmussen is survived by his wife, Janet; his sons, Terry (Timie Sue) Rasmussen, Trent Rasmussen, Milton, Jr. (Nanette) Rasmussen, and Alvin Rasmussen; his grandchildren, Eric (Susanna), Melissa (Wyatt), Gregory, Kirsten, Nicole, and Amanda; and his great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Grayce, Patrick, and Ethan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Milton Rasmussen; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Milton Rasmussen as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
