SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dolores Stephan of Arlington Heights, who
4passed away on September 3, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born August 14, 1929, in Point Marion,
6Pennsylvania, to Anthony and Elizabeth (nee Politano) Rivoli;
7she attended South Hills High School and graduated from
8Pittsburgh Business School; and
 
9    WHEREAS, She began working at the Wheeling Township office
10in 1974; she served 6 terms as the township assessor from 1981
11to 2005, and during that time she especially enjoyed making
12house calls to homebound senior citizens and those with
13disabilities; she also worked as a realtor since 1981, most
14recently with Prudential Starck Realtors; and
 
15    WHEREAS, She was actively involved at St. Edna Catholic
16Church, teaching religion education and serving on various
17committees; she was passionately involved in the Republican
18Party, and campaigned for various candidates; and
 
19    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her beloved husband
20of 43 years, Ernie; as well as her siblings, Rose Piluso, Norma
21Nash, and Tony, Gilbert, and Armand Rivoli; and

1    WHEREAS, Dolores Stephan is survived by her children, Maria
2E. Manning and Linda T. (Tom) Karch; her grandchildren, Ryan
3Manning, and Justin and Lukas Karch; and her many nieces and
4nephews; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
7her family and friends, the passing of Dolores Stephan; and be
8it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Dolores Stephan as a symbol of our
11sincere sympathy.
