SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Frederic E. Doederlein of East Dundee, who passed away on September 23, 2011; and

WHEREAS, Frederic Doederlein was born on April 3, 1927, in Elgin; his parents were Walter and Charlotte (nee Sylvester) Doederlein; he married his loving wife, DeLoris, on July 17, 1953; he was a lifelong resident of East Dundee; and

WHEREAS, Frederic Doederlein was a 1945 graduate of Dundee Community High School and a 1951 graduate of Valparaiso University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business law; and

WHEREAS, Frederic Doederlein proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II aboard the USS DeHaven; and

WHEREAS, Frederic Doederlein was the owner and operator of Fred Doederlein Lumber and Fred Doederlein Enterprises; and

WHEREAS, Frederic Doederlein was a life member and a past commander of Tri-Cities Evergreen VFW Post #2298 and a member of the Carpentersville American Legion; he was also a lifelong and active member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in West Dundee; and

WHEREAS, Frederic Doederlein was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ted; and

WHEREAS, Frederic Doederlein is survived by his wife of 58 years, DeLoris; his children, Mark (Karen) Cole, Dr. Stephen (Bobbi Jo) Rittmann, Robert (Susie) Rittmann, Martha (Scott) Lehman, and Carol Hardt; his nine grandchildren; his six great-grandchildren; his sister, Kate (Jim Bernhardt) Counsell; his sister-in-law, Gloria Doederlein; and his many nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Frederic E. Doederlein; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Frederic Doederlein as an expression of our sympathy.
