SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of United States Army Specialist Michael
4Vukovich of Crystal Lake, who passed away on September 30,
52011; and
 
6    WHEREAS, SPC Michael Vukovich was born on November 19,
71988, in Elk Grove; his parents are Jon and Carrie Vukovich;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, SPC Michael Vukovich served his country with pride
10and distinction as a member of the United States Army from
11April 22, 2009 until his passing; he served as a combat
12engineer and was responsible for locating roadside bombs; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Shortly after his return from Afghanistan, SPC
14Michael Vukovich was diagnosed with cancer; after receiving
15medical treatment at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington
16D.C., he and his wife transferred back to Chicago to continue
17his treatment and be surrounded by the love of his family and
18friends; and
 
19    WHEREAS, SPC Michael Vukovich is survived by his loving
20wife, Alison "Alie" Vukovich; his brother, Matthew Vukovich;
21his sister, Lauren Vukovich; his parents; his grandparents,

1Richard and Deanna Moore; his father-in-law and mother-in-law,
2Bob and Nancy Cole; and his brother-in-law, Cory (Sylvia)
3Smith; and
 
4    WHEREAS, SPC Michael Vukovich's patriotism and courage
5will be remembered fondly by his loving family, his fellow
6soldiers, and the citizens of our grateful nation; therefore,
7be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10his family and friends, the passing of United States Army
11Specialist Michael Vukovich; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of SPC Michael Vukovich as an
14expression of our sympathy.
