SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Louis Schimenti of Waukegan, who passed away on July 11, 2011; and

WHEREAS, He was born April 27, 1920 in Italy, and came to this country in 1923 with his parents; and

WHEREAS, He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific American Theater, Navy CB; he received the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, and the Victory Medal; and

WHEREAS, He retired from Abbott Laboratories in 1985; and

WHEREAS, Louis Schimenti is survived by his wife, Mary; his sons, Edward (Joni), Louis (Michelle), and James (Coleen); his grandchildren, Edward John, Daniel, Alyssa, Megan, and Erin; and his sisters, Virginia Beaver and Connie Kadziakuskas; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Louis Schimenti; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Louis Schimenti as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
