SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard Lee Clayborne, Sr., of Springfield, who passed away on January 31, 2011; and

WHEREAS, He was born August 25, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Oscar and Goldie Clayborne; he married Ruby M. Farris on June 10, 1967; and

WHEREAS, He was a graduate of Feitshans High School; he was the owner and operator of Reliable Garbage Service; and

WHEREAS, He loved to fish and watch sports; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his son, George Williams; and his sister-in-law, Roslyn Clayborne; and

WHEREAS, Richard Clayborne, Sr. is survived by his wife, Ruby Clayborne; his parents, Oscar and Goldie Clayborne; his daughters, Robin Clayborne and Mary Ann Ewing; his son, Richard L. Clayborne II; his sisters, Janet Glass (Tom), Rose Trent, and Elaine Gaworski; his brothers, Alfred Clayborne, Sr. and Ronald Jackson; his 13 grandchildren; his 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Richard Lee Clayborne, Sr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard Lee Clayborne, Sr. as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
