SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Colleen Mary (Kelleher) Sullivan of Peoria, who passed away on December 10, 2011; and

WHEREAS, She was born on June 13, 1924, in Volga, Iowa, and raised in Elkader, Iowa, to Harry and Mary (Connor) Kelleher; she married Harold T. (Tom) Sullivan; and

WHEREAS, She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church of Peoria; she was a member of St. Patrick Society, was the Mother of the Year in 1998, and was part of many other charitable organizations; and

WHEREAS, She worked at the Peoria County Courthouse for 33 years, retiring as jury commissioner in 1999 at the age of 75; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, J. M. "Sully" Sullivan; her 2 brothers; and 4 sisters; and

WHEREAS, Colleen Sullivan is survived by her children, Margaret (Chuck) Walter, Mary (Dan) Arnold, Pat (Lark) Sullivan, Susie Blasek, Tracy (John) Meisinger, Becky (John) Blasek, Colleen (Dave) DeFord, Dodie (Steve) Gomer, and Maureen (Brice) Baumgarten; her daughter in-law, Molly Mihm Sullivan; her grandchildren, Becky (Jim) Myszka, Tim (Jodi) Walter, Todd (Jenny) Walter, Jim Arnold (Melissa Kneip), Jason Arnold, Joe Arnold (Kim Elder), Stephanie (Mike) Crabtree, Sean (Maureen) Sullivan, Molly (Ciaron) Graham, Billy (Lauren) Blasek, Michael (Jen) Blasek, Janelle (Shawn) Glatz, Kelli (Mike) Barr, MaryBeth (Brad) Cunningham, Angie (Chris) Jungwirth, Kari (Lou) Trilikis, Kevin (Sarah) Blasek, Erin DeFord (Tom Nagawiecki), Melissa DeFord, Kevin (Emma) Gomer, Connor Gomer, and Brendan Baumgarten; her 28 great-grandchildren and 5 on the way; her brother, Harry (Joyce) Kelleher; her sister, Petrene (Fred) Poss; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Colleen Sullivan; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Colleen Sullivan as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
