SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mona L. Williams of Benton, who passed away on January 9, 2012; and

WHEREAS, She was born December 5, 1934, in Sesser, the daughter of Gilbert and Nancy (Phillips) Galloway; she married Arthur Williams on December 31, 1953; and

WHEREAS, She grew up attending Hazel Dell Free Will Baptist Church in Sesser; in later years, she attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Benton; she was a secretary at Benton High School for 25 years, the last 19 of those years were with the athletic department; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brother, Don Galloway; and

WHEREAS, Mona Williams is survived by her son, Dwayne Williams and her daughter, Pam Williams Walden and husband, Joe; her grandsons, Arthur Gwayne Williams and Hunter Williams Foltz; her sisters, LaDonna Kalish and husband, Jim, and Brenda Bradley; her brothers, Doyle Galloway and wife, Earlene, Delbert Galloway and wife, Phyllis, and Dean Galloway and wife, Mary Lou; her sister-in-law, Helen Galloway; and several nieces, nephews and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Mona Williams; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mona Williams as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
