SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jeffrey Drake Butterfield of Palatine, formerly of Glencoe, who passed away on February 8, 2011; and

WHEREAS, He was the former president and CEO of Harris Bank Palatine, and vice chairman of Cornerstone National Bank in Palatine since 2005; he was the sitting chairman of the Buehler YMCA in Palatine; and

WHEREAS, He served on the WINGS Leadership Board since its beginnings in 2003; he supported many of the WINGS events; and

WHEREAS, He was the president of the Harper College Foundation Board, and helped fundraise for college enhancements and programs, as well as scholarships; in 2006, he co-chaired the "Project Tomorrow" campaign; in 2010, at the Harper College commencement ceremony, his dedication to the college was rewarded when he received the James J. McGrath Award; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Butterfield was the husband of Cindy; the father of Kari Butterfield (Matt) Liddle, Brandon Butterfield, and Grant Butterfield; the grandfather of Skeie, Clovelly, Charlotte, and MacBride Liddle; and the brother of Larry and Peter Butterfield; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Jeffrey Butterfield; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jeffrey Butterfield as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
