SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Earl R. Rogers of Bloomington, who passed
4away on December 24, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born September 21, 1935, in Chicago, the
6son of Vernon and Marie Biller Rogers; he married Kathleen Daly
7on May 15, 1982, in Bloomington; and
 
8    WHEREAS, He graduated from Fort Wayne Central High School,
9Class of 1954, and Purdue University; he worked for Pure Oil
10from 1954 to 1958 and Old Fort Supply from 1958 to 1972, both
11in Fort Wayne, Indiana; he was recruited to work in Bloomington
12for Builders Supply Co. in 1972 and worked there for 10 years;
13from 1982 to 1990, he managed ACME Brick Co. in New Orleans,
14Louisiana; from 1990 to 1995, he worked at West Side Forest
15Products; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Along with his partner, Kent Waterkotte, he
17started Midwest Lumber Products, retiring in 2005; after
18retirement, he volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, The Fuller
19Center for Housing, BroMenn Thrift Shop, and the Central
20Catholic Athletic Department; and
 
21    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; and his

1sister, Marie Troeger; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Earl Rogers is survived by his wife, Kathleen; his
3son, Michael (Angeline) Rogers; his daughter, Sheryl (Ashok
4Srinivasan) Rogers; his stepchildren, Bridget, Molly, and Tom
5Larkin; his grandchildren, Ashley Rogers, Laura Fuller,
6Kristen Hess, Sgt. Jordan Larkin, Noah and Jack Bradshaw, and
7Ashley and Nick Larkin; his brother, Vernon Rogers; and his
8sisters, Ramona Newell and Lucille Rogers; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11his family and friends, the passing of Earl Rogers; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Earl Rogers as a symbol of our
15sincere sympathy.
