SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Lori L. Groetken of Bloomington, who passed away on December 28, 2011; and

WHEREAS, She was born July 15, 1958, in Bloomington, the daughter of Ken and Char Gunderson Huff; she married Cecil D. Groetken on June 12, 1982, in Bloomington; and

WHEREAS, She was a 1976 graduate of Bloomington High School; she worked at Afni for 13 years and was an education manager; she was a member of Lakeside Country Club, Bloomington; she enjoyed golf and was an avid Cubs fan; and

WHEREAS, She founded the Groetken Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research; she started an annual golf outing at Lakeside Country Club for the benefit of the Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis, Missouri; and

WHEREAS, Lori Groetken is survived by her husband, Cecil; her father, Ken (Judy) Huff; her mother, Char Huff; her son, Christopher L. Groetken; her brothers, Steve Huff and Stan (Margie) Huff; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Cyril (Pauline) Groetken, Michael (Mary Jane) Groetken, Richard (Kathy) Groetken, Pete (Donna) Groetken, Pat (Ron) Washburn, Mary (Dale) Jones, Bob (Debbie) Groetken, and Debbie (Jim) Weddingfeld; her many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; and her dog, Cubby; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Lori Groetken; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lori Groetken as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
