SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marlene C. Stern, who passed away on July 22, 2011; and

WHEREAS, Marlene Stern was born on March 1, 1937; and

WHEREAS, Marlene Stern was a successful interior decorator; and

WHEREAS, Marlene Stern was a 2-time past president of the Women's Variety Club of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Marlene Stern was the beloved wife of Richard S. Stern; the devoted mother of Mark (Katie) Stern and Scott (Stacey) Stern; the loving grandmother of Hailey, Madison, and Jack; the dear sister of Renee (Marvin) Lederman; the fond sister-in-law of Larry (Elyse) Stern and the late Gloria Stern; and the beloved aunt of many; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Marlene C. Stern; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marlene Stern as an expression of our sympathy.
