SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Betty J. "Granny" Meyer of Maroa, who passed away on March 5, 2012; and

WHEREAS, She was born March 23, 1922, in Alma, Nebraska, the daughter of Frank and Blanch Boatman Davis; and

WHEREAS, She married Loyd E. Meyer on August 15, 1948, in Smith Center, Kansas; and

WHEREAS, She was a member of Maroa Christian Church; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd; her parents; her daughter, Wanda Moore; her sisters, Bonnie, Eloise, and Naomi; and her son-in-law, Morris Roeder; and

WHEREAS, Betty Meyer is survived by her children, Katherine "Kathy" (David) Damm, Royal "Tom" (Nancy) Woodard, Letisha "Tish" (Larry) Larsen, Barbara (Larry) Gillenwater, Linda (Rick) Bielski, and Loyd (Madolyn) Meyer; her sister, Helen Swanson; her brother, Sherman (Cathy) Davis; and her many grandchildren; her many great-grandchildren; and her many great-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Betty Meyer; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Betty Meyer as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
