SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Elizabeth A. (Betty Ann) Donovan, who passed away on March 5, 2012; and

WHEREAS, She was born of Irish immigrants, Bart and Nellie O'Connor; she was a lifelong Chicagoan, a graduate of St. Gregory the Great High School, and St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing; and

WHEREAS, She was proud of Chicago, the City's sports teams, and her family; she leaves a legacy of style, stories, and songs; per her request, her gravestone will say she could dance the jig; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her sisters Kathleen Connolly and Peggy O'Malley; and

WHEREAS, Elizabeth A. (Betty Ann) Donovan, nee O'Connor, leaves her loyal adoring husband, Jack, of 62 years; her children, Janis, Susan (John Arndt), Jack Jr. (Louise), Beth Ann (Richard Martinelli), and Tom (Cathy), and joins her dearly-missed son, Steven; Mimi, aka The Meemster, leaves her precious grandchildren, Zachary, Christopher (Katie), Martha (Aaron), Jack III (Michelle), Donovan, John, Beth, Rich, Christy, Danny, Connor, Shay, Rose, Jack, Patrick, Mary Fran, and Tommy; her sister, Eileen Cleveland; her brothers-in-law, Kevin O'Malley, Jim Donovan, and Dan Donovan (Barbara); and many wonderful nieces and nephews who admired her; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Elizabeth Donovan; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Elizabeth Donovan as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
