SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Paul E. Gardner of Bartonville, who passed away on April 21, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Paul Gardner was born on September 11, 1928, in Peoria; his parents were Charles "Al" and Anna M. Gardner; he married Nancy Paul on December 21, 1979, in Eureka; and

WHEREAS, Paul Gardner served his country with pride and distinction as a member of the United States Navy at the end of World War II; and

WHEREAS, Paul Gardner was a 42-year journeyman electrician that worked out of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 34; and

WHEREAS, Paul Gardner was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Bartonville; and

WHEREAS, Paul Gardner enjoyed photography, flower gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren; he also enjoyed the water and was a boater for over 20 years; and

WHEREAS, Paul Gardner was preceded in death by his parents; his 4 brothers; and his sister; and

WHEREAS, Paul Gardner is survived by his wife, Nancy; his sons, Thomas (Elizabeth) Gardner, Gerald Gardner, Daniel (Silvana) Gardner, and Benjamin (Tami) Gardner; his daughters, Christine (Steven) Simpson and Elizabeth Gardner; his stepson, Steven Paul; his stepdaughters, Sherry (Rex) Mustain and Sandra (John) Post; his sisters, Sister Lucille Gardner, Mildred Bannister, and Frances (Marvin) Ioeger; his 18 grandchildren; and his 8 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Paul E. Gardner; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Paul Gardner as an expression of our sympathy.
