SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Harold Patrick Graham of Shorewood, who passed away on April 7, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Harold Graham was a proud graduate of the Cathedral of St. Raymond School, Joliet Catholic High School, and Lewis University; he later served as a Trustee at Lewis University; and

WHEREAS, Harold Graham served his country with pride as a member of the Illinois National Guard; and

WHEREAS, Harold Graham and his wife were the founders of HP Graham Construction Company in 1969; his love of building roads expanded into developing real estate in Illinois, Florida, and Hawaii; most recently, he proudly worked with a group of local friends to found First Community Bank; and

WHEREAS, Harold Graham was a lifelong Joliet resident and member of the Cathedral of St. Raymond Parish, where he ushered noon Mass for many years; he was also a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus and Joliet Elks Lodge and served on the Parent Board and Board of Trustees at his daughters' alma mater, St. Mary's Notre Dame; and

WHEREAS, Harold Graham is survived by his wife of 44 years, Patricia (Liker); his daughters, Colleen (Thomas) Dow and Christine (Matthew) Gambs; his grandchildren, Katie Dow and Charlie and Michael Gambs; and his mother-in-law, Clara Liker; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Harold Patrick Graham; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Harold Graham as an expression of our sympathy.
