SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard Thomas "Dick" Wyatt of Aurora, who passed away on September 20, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Richard Wyatt was born on October 5, 1930; his parents were Arthur P. "Artie" Wyatt and Margaret "Sally" Sollenberger; and

WHEREAS, Richard Wyatt graduated from West Aurora High School in 1948; and

WHEREAS, Richard Wyatt was the owner and operator of the Aurora Tennis Club on Indian Trail Road from 1971 to 1999; he was also the owner of Westwind Swim Club on Indian Trail Road; and

WHEREAS, Richard Wyatt was an avid fan and booster of his beloved West Aurora High School Blackhawks, especially the basketball team; he and his wife saw nearly every game played between 1970 and 2005; and

WHEREAS, Richard Wyatt and his wife were inducted as members of the Illinois Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame in 1999; he is also a member of the West High Sports Hall of Fame; and

WHEREAS, Richard Wyatt was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and saw them play the Detroit Tigers in the 1945 World Series; he also rooted for the New York Yankees, but would have traded all their success over the years for just one Cubs Championship; and

WHEREAS, Richard Wyatt is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carole J. Wyatt; his children, Susan Wallin (Roy), Cathy Smith (Dale), Mary St. Jules (Chip), Jane Miller (Mike), William Wyatt (Gabriela), Sallee Wyatt (Dave), and Nancy Chivari; and his brother, Arthur R. Wyatt; he took great pride in his grandchildren, Sarah and Julie Wallin, Cristin and Joseph McCue, Thomas and Andrew St. Jules, Greg, Cathy and Lauren Miller, Gabrielle and Richard Wyatt, Alisanne Wegman, Alexandra and Elizabeth Hurst, and Meri, Elli, Laci, and Wyatt Chivari; he was also blessed to have seen his great-grandchildren, Beyonce Brown, Derrick Jordan, Derrion Jordan, Michael Miller, Ella Jane Marciniak, and Aidan St. Jules; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Richard Thomas "Dick" Wyatt; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard Wyatt as an expression of our sympathy.
