SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Charles J. Baker of Silvis, who passed away on April 29, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Charles Baker was born to Charles E. and Vita Maria (Crocitto) Baker in Cedar Falls, Iowa on April 16, 1947; he served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War and was thrilled to go on the Honor Flight a few years ago; he married Kathleen White in Cedar Falls on July 27, 1974; and

WHEREAS, After his time in the military, Charles Baker and his wife owned and operated a boarding/grooming service; his main career was racing horses for 21 years before going to work for Green Chevrolet selling cars; and

WHEREAS, Charles Baker enjoyed anything related to animals, gambling (particularly poker), and golfing; family was the most important thing to him, especially spending time with his grandchildren and watching their sporting events; and

WHEREAS, Charles Baker was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Jonathan Workman; and

WHEREAS, Charles Fulton is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy; his four daughters and sons-in-law, Tina Yarolem, Jennifer (Keith) Hooks, Breanna (Andrew) Allardyce, and Katie (Mike) Brooks; his ten grandchildren; his four great-grandchildren; his sisters and a brother-in-law, Jeanne Hammer and Joanne (Ray) Beninga; and his several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Charles J. Baker and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Charles Baker as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
