SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Larry L. Trucano, who passed away on October 4, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Larry Trucano was born in East St. Louis on September 15, 1939; and

WHEREAS, Larry Trucano retired in 1989 after over 23 years as a police officer with the City of Collinsville; he also served as Collinsville Township Highway Commissioner for 35 years; and

WHEREAS, Larry Trucano was a charter member of Our Lord's Lutheran Church in Maryville; most recently, he was a member of the Madison County Board and the Southwest Illinois Law Enforcement Board; he was a past member of the YMCA Board; he was also known as the non-Kiwanian who sold the most bags of oranges, at 1,400 bags; and

WHEREAS, Larry Trucano was preceded in death by his father, Harry V. Trucano, and his mother, Wilma (Richardson) Trucano Giovando; and

WHEREAS, Larry Trucano is survived by his wife, Ginger M. (Bickel) Trucano; his son, Jim (Shelly) Trucano; his daughters, Kathy (Steve) Hoelscher, Chris Trucano, and Leslee Gibson; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Larry L. Trucano and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Larry Trucano as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
