SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Lloyd Duane Lawson of Coal Valley, who passed away on December 6, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Lloyd Lawson was born to Alexander and Amy (Wilkinson) Lawson in Moline on August 25, 1936; he graduated from Western Illinois University and served in the U.S. Air Force; and

WHEREAS, Lloyd Lawson was employed at J I Case in East Moline for 29 years, retiring as Chief Inspector in 1994; and

WHEREAS, Lloyd Lawson was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, American Legion Post #246, Moline, and the Experimental Aircraft Association; he was a former member of Chapter #23 of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and Section #1303 of the American Society for Quality; and

WHEREAS, Lloyd Lawson loved going out to eat and enjoyed traveling, sight seeing, and flying; and

WHEREAS, Lloyd Lawson was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and his 12 siblings; and

WHEREAS, Lloyd Lawson is survived by his numerous nieces and nephews and their families; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Lloyd Duane Lawson and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lloyd Lawson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
