SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Elizabeth Ann "Bettie" Shinks of Waukegan, who passed away on July 2, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Elizabeth Shinks graduated from North Chicago High School and earned an associate's degree from the College of Lake County; and

WHEREAS, Elizabeth Shinks was a smart, strong, funny, and feisty mother; earlier in her life, she enjoyed playing golf, reading, and traveling; and

WHEREAS, Elizabeth Shinks was preceded in death by her husband of 18 years, Dennis; and

WHEREAS, Elizabeth Shinks is survived by her children, Michael Koper, Catherine Miscenic, and Laura (Ralph) Strathmann; the father of her children, Thomas Koper; and her grandchildren, Ryan and Matt Miscenic and Camryn and Andrew Strathmann; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Elizabeth Ann "Bettie" Shinks and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Elizabeth Shinks as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
