HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives of the 102nd General Assembly recognize and appreciate the contributions of the hardworking men and women of the Illinois Oil and Gas Association, its esteemed board of directors, and its associated affiliates; and

WHEREAS, The Illinois Oil and Gas Association has awarded special recognition for outstanding achievement to Brad Gesell and to Gesell's Pump Sales & Service, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, Brad Gesell was born in Vandalia on January 4, 1960 to an oil family from the Farina and Kinmundy areas; and

WHEREAS, Brad Gesell is a 1978 graduate of Benton High School and a 1980 graduate of Rend Lake College; and

WHEREAS, After graduation, Brad Gesell started his own company with his father, brother, and sister to service wells and buy production; and

WHEREAS, Gesell's Pump Sales & Service, Inc. has now grown to operate over 250 wells in Franklin and Jefferson Counties, employing 25 hardworking people; and

WHEREAS, Gesell's Pump Sales & Service, Inc. is a vital contributor to the local economy, operating for 42 years and building a reputation for its service, expertise, and integrity; and

WHEREAS, Gesell's Pump Sales & Service, Inc. was awarded the prestigious Wildcatter of the Year Award by the Illinois Oil and Gas Association in 2006 and again in 2021; and

WHEREAS, Brad Gesell of Gesell's Pump Sales & Service, Inc. was the 2022 recipient of the Illinois Oil and Gas Association's Lifetime Achievement Award; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize Brad Gesell, the Gesell family, and the employees of Gesell Pump Sales & Service, Inc. on their decades of service and contributions to the Illinois oil and gas industry; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we congratulate Gesell's Pump Sales & Service, Inc. on winning the Wildcatter of the Year Award in 2021; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we congratulate Brad Gesell on receiving the 2022 Illinois Oil and Gas Association's Lifetime Achievement Award; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Brad Gesell of Gesell's Pump Sales & Service, Inc. as a token of our esteem and respect.
