SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ivey Jo Weaver of Bloomington, who passed away on September 20, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Ivey Weaver was born to Edd and Altha Mae Land in Kerens, Texas on August 30, 1931; she graduated from Hillcrest School of Nursing; she married Ed Weaver on September 8, 1950; and

WHEREAS, Ivey Weaver worked as a real estate sales agent in Bloomington for decades; and

WHEREAS, Ivey Weaver started a local chapter of the Red Hat Society, which later became the Ivey Club; and

WHEREAS, Ivey Weaver was a life master in bridge; she and her husband enjoyed traveling abroad; and

WHEREAS, Ivey Weaver was affectionately called "Gigi" by her great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Ivey Weaver is survived by her children, David (Trish) Weaver and Mark (Cindy) Weaver; her grandchildren, Wendi Weaver, Braxton (Katie) Weaver, Tyler (Erin) Weaver, and Talia (Mike) Laquitara; and her eight great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Ivey Jo Weaver and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ivey Weaver as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
