SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Patrick "Pat" Eugene Hicks of Moline,
4who passed away on November 30, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Pat Hicks was born to Geoff and Sharon (Huffman)
6Hicks in DeKalb on March 18, 1970; he graduated from Moline
7High School in 1988; he served in the U.S. Army during the Gulf
8War and earned a number of medals, including the Southwest
9Asia Service Medal with three bronze stars; he married
10Jennifer Hitch in Hinsdale on March 23, 2002; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Patrick Hicks worked at John Deere Harvester,
12where he was most recently a fork truck operator; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Pat Hicks was a member of the Porsche Club of
14America as well as several other car and gaming groups; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Pat Hicks enjoyed fishing, hunting, and going to
16the shooting range; he loved gaming and had many gaming
17friends from around the country; he particularly enjoyed cars
18and coffee, but the most important thing to him was family; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Pat is survived by his wife; his daughter, Abby;
20his parents; his brother, Andrew Hicks; his in-laws, James and

1Janice Hitch; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jeanene
2and Mark Letcher, James and Kelly Hitch, and Jorie and Jared
3Edwards; and his nieces and nephews, Rebekah, Christopher, and
4Jonathan Letcher, Colin and Finn Hitch, and Jorja, Jada, and
5Jaymesyn Edwards; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Patrick "Pat" Eugene Hicks and extend our sincere condolences
9to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
10it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Pat Hicks as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
