SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Patrick "Pat" Eugene Hicks of Moline, who passed away on November 30, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Pat Hicks was born to Geoff and Sharon (Huffman) Hicks in DeKalb on March 18, 1970; he graduated from Moline High School in 1988; he served in the U.S. Army during the Gulf War and earned a number of medals, including the Southwest Asia Service Medal with three bronze stars; he married Jennifer Hitch in Hinsdale on March 23, 2002; and

WHEREAS, Patrick Hicks worked at John Deere Harvester, where he was most recently a fork truck operator; and

WHEREAS, Pat Hicks was a member of the Porsche Club of America as well as several other car and gaming groups; and

WHEREAS, Pat Hicks enjoyed fishing, hunting, and going to the shooting range; he loved gaming and had many gaming friends from around the country; he particularly enjoyed cars and coffee, but the most important thing to him was family; and

WHEREAS, Pat is survived by his wife; his daughter, Abby; his parents; his brother, Andrew Hicks; his in-laws, James and Janice Hitch; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jeanene and Mark Letcher, James and Kelly Hitch, and Jorie and Jared Edwards; and his nieces and nephews, Rebekah, Christopher, and Jonathan Letcher, Colin and Finn Hitch, and Jorja, Jada, and Jaymesyn Edwards; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Patrick "Pat" Eugene Hicks and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Pat Hicks as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
