| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Ronnie Joe Reiher of Carlinville, who | 4 | | passed away on March 24, 2023; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ronnie Reiher was born to Harold and Wanda Caudle | 6 | | Reiher in Litchfield on January 8, 1951; he graduated from | 7 | | Carlinville High School in 1969 and served in the Army | 8 | | National Guard in Springfield from 1969 to 1977; he married | 9 | | Cindy Vance on November 11, 1977, and they later divorced; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Ronnie Reiher began his career in law enforcement | 11 | | as a part-time police officer at the Carlinville Police | 12 | | Department in March 1975, moving to a full time position in | 13 | | December 1977; he served as police chief from September 1988 | 14 | | to May 1997; he continued to serve on the Carlinville Police | 15 | | Department until his retirement on May 3, 2011; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Throughout his adult life, Ronnie Reiher always | 17 | | looked forward to the spring and harvest seasons when he spent | 18 | | quality time with his best friend, Denny Joe Bouillon, while | 19 | | farming; in the summers, he loved cooking his famous fish | 20 | | sandwiches at the county fair alongside his son; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Ronnie Reiher was preceded in death by his |

| 1 | | father, Harold Reiher; his mother, Wanda Reiher Stevens; his | 2 | | sister, Vicki Foiles; his brother-in-law, Tom Rosenthal; and | 3 | | his nephew, Jared Wofford; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Ronnie Reiher is survived by his son, Quinn | 5 | | (Bobbie Ann) Reiher; his daughters, Danley Reiher and Carmen | 6 | | (Aaron) Coe; his grandchildren, Bryson and Mila Coe; his | 7 | | sister, Jana Wofford; his brother-in-law, Nathan Foiles; his | 8 | | lifelong friend, Denny Joe (Patty) Bouillon; and his several | 9 | | nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| 12 | | Ronnie Joe Reiher and extend our sincere
condolences to his | 13 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it | 14 | | further
