SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Joan M. McCrady of Springfield,
4formerly of Divernon, who passed away on May 12, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joan McCrady was born in Woodside Township to
6Clifford and Opal Phillips Cawley on July 4, 1937; she married
7Ken McCrady on April 27, 1957; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Joan McCrady worked for the Divernon News for
9over 25 years; she also worked for the Oak Terrace Retirement
10Community and sold books for many years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Joan McCrady was affectionately known to many as
12"Nana"; she loved to sew for people in the community and to
13bake; she was a huge Illini basketball and Tom Brady fan; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Joan McCrady was preceded in death by her
15husband, Ken, and her sister, Ann Piper; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Joan McCrady is survived by her sons, Raymond
17(Denise), Rodney (Debbie), Randy, Ryan (Jenna), and Rhett
18(Denise); 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; her
19brothers, Howard (Donna), Dave (Ruth), Jim (Betty), and Fred
20(Janice); her sister, Marilyn Preval; and several nieces and

1nephews; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Joan M. McCrady and extend our sincere condolences to her
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Joan McCrady as an expression of our
9deepest sympathy.
