Creates the Village of Bloomingdale School District Boundary Adjustment Act. Provides that those portions of the Vittoria Brooke
Estates and Chateaus of Medinah subdivisions consisting of approximately 35 single family home sites in the Village of Bloomingdale (as defined in certain Bloomingdale ordinances of annexation) shall be included within the boundaries of Bloomingdale School District 13 and Lake Park Community High School District 108 and shall cease to be within the boundaries of Marquardt School District 15 and Glenbard Township High School District 87. Effective immediately.

| | 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| | 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
| | 4 | | Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the | | 5 | | Village of Bloomingdale School District Boundary Adjustment | | 6 | | Act.
| | 7 | | Section 5. Definitions. In this Act: | | 8 | | "Bloomingdale" means the Village of Bloomingdale, in | | 9 | | DuPage
County, Illinois.
| | 10 | | "Districts 15 and 87" means Marquardt School District 15 | | 11 | | and Glenbard Township High School District 87, both in DuPage | | 12 | | County, Illinois. | | 13 | | "Districts 13 and 108" mean Bloomingdale School District 13 | | 14 | | and
Lake Park Community High School District 108, both in | | 15 | | DuPage County, Illinois.
| | 16 | | "Petitioning Territory" means those portions of the | | 17 | | Vittoria Brooke
Estates and Chateaus of Medinah subdivisions | | 18 | | consisting of approximately 35 single family home sites, all | | 19 | | located in the Village of Bloomingdale, DuPage County, | | 20 | | Illinois, as defined in Bloomingdale Ordinances of Annexation | | 21 | | 2000-23, dated July 10, 2000, and 2001-30, dated October 8, | | 22 | | 2001. The Petitioning Territory is currently divided, as of | | 23 | | July 16, 2012, with a portion of the Petitioning Territory in |

| | 1 | | the school district boundaries of Districts 15 and 87 and a | | 2 | | portion in the school district boundaries of Districts 13 and | | 3 | | 108.
| | 4 | | Section 10. Purpose. The purpose of this Act is to make | | 5 | | existing school district boundaries in Bloomingdale more | | 6 | | compact and contiguous, to more efficiently utilize property | | 7 | | tax revenues by eliminating duplicative and unnecessary | | 8 | | expenditures for transportation and public services, and to | | 9 | | promote the general public welfare and the safety of children.
| | 10 | | Section 15. Authority of the legislature to act. The | | 11 | | General Assembly has the authority to abolish, dissolve, and | | 12 | | change boundaries of school districts in the State of Illinois.
| | 13 | | Section 20. Boundary changes. The Petitioning Territory | | 14 | | shall, in its entirety, be included within the boundaries of | | 15 | | Bloomingdale School District 13 and Lake Park Community High | | 16 | | School District 108 and shall cease to be within the boundaries | | 17 | | of Marquardt School District 15 and Glenbard Township High | | 18 | | School District 87 for the purpose of public education, in | | 19 | | accordance with the best interests of the public, and to | | 20 | | promote the general public welfare and the safety of children | | 21 | | in the Petitioning Territory.
| | 22 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | | 23 | | becoming law.
