SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
Amends the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act.
Provides that sellers of propane who sell or deliver propane at different
prices to different customers with respect to propane sales made during the
same calendar week commit an unlawful practice.

AN ACT concerning propane sellers.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
The Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business
Practices Act is amended by adding Section 2QQQ as follows:
(815 ILCS 505/2QQQ new)
Sales practices of propane sellers.
(a) As used in this Section:
"Calendar week" means a period of 7 consecutive days
beginning with Sunday and ending with Saturday.
"Propane" means a hydrocarbon whose chemical
composition is predominately C3H8, whether recovered from
natural gas or crude oil, and includes liquified petroleum
gases and mixtures thereof.
"Propane seller" means a person engaged primarily in
the sale of odorized propane to the ultimate consumer by
delivery to and filling of the consumer's propane storage
device at the consumer's place of consumption.
(b) A propane seller may not sell and deliver propane at
different prices to different residential consumers with
respect to sales made during the same calendar week.
(c) A violation of this Section constitutes an unlawful
practice within the meaning of this Act.
