SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

755 ILCS 8/402

Amends the Uniform Adult Guardianship and Protective Proceedings Jurisdiction Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the registration of protective orders.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning civil law.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Uniform Adult Guardianship and Protective Proceedings Jurisdiction Act is amended by changing Section 402 as follows:

Sec. 402. Registration of protective orders. If a conservator has has been appointed in another state and a petition for a protective order is not pending in this state, the conservator appointed in the other state, after giving notice to the appointing court of an intent to register, may register the protective order in this state by filing as a foreign judgment in a court of this state, in any county in which property belonging to the protected person is located, certified copies of the order and letters of office and of any bond.
