SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

30 ILCS 605/8.4 new

Amends the State Property Control Act. Provides that, if the administrator sells any State correctional facility to the United States government, the contract effectuating that sale shall include a specific provision that the facility shall not, under any circumstances, be used for the detention or confinement of persons who are subject to the Military Commissions Act of 2009. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning State government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The State Property Control Act is amended by adding Section 8.4 as follows:

(30 ILCS 605/8.4 new)

Sec. 8.4. Sale of State correctional facilities. In the event that the administrator sells the any State correctional facility to the United States government pursuant to the provisions of this Act, the contract effectuating that sale shall include a specific provision that the facility shall not, under any circumstances, be used for the detention or confinement of persons who are subject to the Military Commissions Act of 2009.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
