HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Representative Monique D. Davis and the members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Morgan Park High School boys basketball team, the Mustangs, on winning the 2014 Class 3A State championship; and

WHEREAS, This is the 2nd consecutive, and 3rd overall, State championship for Morgan Park High School boys basketball, having won the championship in 2013 and 1976; and

WHEREAS, The Morgan Park Mustangs won 11 of its final 12 games on the way to the title, defeating Lincoln in the championship game 59-49; and

WHEREAS, The 2014 Morgan Park Mustangs are Dellan Whatley, Charlie Moore, Jarrin Randle, Jamal Burton, Torry Johnson, Jelani Hardy, Marcus Johnson, Josh Cunningham, Alonzo Chatman, Lamont Walker, Alonzo Taylor, Antonio Alsup, Mannie Robinson, and Lamous Brown; their head coach is Nick Irvin and their assistant coaches are Terry Johnson, Lance Irvin, Curtis Blair, Antwon Jennings, and Fred Cleveland; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Morgan Park High School Mustangs on winning the 2014 Class 3A State basketball championship; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Morgan Park High School Mustangs as an expression of our esteem and respect.
