1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Ravenswood
4 Manor Improvement Association on the occasion of the 100th
5 anniversary of its founding; and

6     WHEREAS, The Ravenswood Manor-Gardens Community Club was
7 organized on October 3, 1914 in order to create a neighborhood
8 group focused on community improvements; and

9     WHEREAS, The Ravenswood Manor Improvement Association is
10 dedicated to the preservation and betterment of the Ravenswood
11 Manor neighborhood of Chicago; and

12     WHEREAS, The Ravenswood Manor Improvement Association is
13 the oldest community association in Chicago still in operation;
14 and

15     WHEREAS, The Ravenswood Manor Improvement Association is
16 responsible for having Ravenswood Manor listed on the National
17 Register as a Historic District on September 5, 2008;
18 therefore, be it

19     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20 NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1 we congratulate the Ravenswood Manor Improvement Association
2 on its 100th anniversary; and be it further

3     RESOLVED, That we thank it for its dedicated work to the
4 improvement of the Ravenswood Manor community and wish it many
5 more years of success; and be it further

6     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7 presented to the Ravenswood Manor Improvement Association as an
8 expression of our esteem and respect.
