HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the members of the Polish American Police Association of Chicago and Illinois on the occasion of the organization's 50th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, The Polish American Police Association of Chicago and Illinois is a social and fraternal organization for Chicago police officers and their families who are of Polish and Slavic descent; the association was founded in 1964 under the guidance of the late Assistant Deputy Superintendent Paul S. Jankowski; and

WHEREAS, The Polish American Police Association is a proactive organization interested in fostering the fraternal, ethnic, cultural, educational, civic, charitable, political, and professional interests of its members and the Polish-Slavic communities; the association provides financial and manpower support for various social service and professional organizations that provide services to the immigrant and Polish-American community; and

WHEREAS, Over the past 50 years, the Polish American Police Association has grown beyond the City of Chicago and now encompasses members from various local, state, county, and federal law enforcement agencies within the State of Illinois and across the country; the association currently has more than 400 active and association members and maintains contact with members who are police officers in Poland; and

WHEREAS, The Polish American Police Association hosts numerous activities, including monthly general membership meetings, a yearly race track outing, a family picnic, participation in the Polish Constitution Day Parade, and an annual dinner dance recognizing individuals whose accomplishments reflect pride in their heritage and have a positive impact on the community; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of the Polish American Police Association of Chicago and Illinois on the occasion of the organization's 50th anniversary and wish them continued success in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Polish American Police Association as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
