HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dr. Robert J. Lupo on the occasion of his retirement as Superintendent of Ridgewood High School; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Lupo has served Ridgewood High School for 24 years, the last 11 as Superintendent; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Lupo graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1971; he earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from Northwestern University in 1975, his master's in Literature from Northeastern Illinois University in 1982, and his doctorate through Northern Illinois University in 1999; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Lupo taught English at Elmwood Park High School from 1975 to 1979 before moving into the business world; he returned to teaching English in 1990 at Ridgewood High School; he moved to Curriculum/Tech Prep Director in 1996 and then to Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction in 1999; he became Superintendent in 2003; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Lupo is involved with numerous organizations including: the Illinois Association of School Administrators, the American Association of School Administrators, LASO, DVR, Rotary, ONCC, the Salvation Army, and the Ridgewood High School Foundation; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Lupo is an avid Chicago White Sox fan and movie buff; he also enjoys fishing, eating, and music, especially opera; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Dr. Robert J. Lupo on his retirement as Superintendent of Ridgewood High School, and wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. Lupo as an expression of our esteem and respect.
