HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of John
4Edward Keane of Springfield, who passed away on May 9, 2014;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, John Keane was born in Chicago on September 10,
71938 to Patrick J. and Nora Kelly Keane; he earned his
8bachelor's degree in Sociology from Loyola University in 1960
9and served his country in the United States Army; he married
10Irene Duffy who preceded him in death; he later married Rosalie
11Henebry on August 1, 1987 at St. Ignatius in Chicago; and
 
12    WHEREAS, John Keane worked as a healthcare administrator
13for many years, serving in Chicago, Niles, and Arthur until his
14retirement in 2003; after retirement, he was an usher for the
15Illinois House of Representatives for 10 years; and
 
16    WHEREAS, John Keane was a member of Church of the Little
17Flower, where he participated in the Gift Program; he enjoyed
18flower and vegetable gardening, cooking, reading, volunteering
19at the University of Illinois Auditorium, building things, and
20tinkering in the garage; and
 
21    WHEREAS, John Keane was preceded in death by his first

1wife, Irene; his parents; and a sister, Patricia Keane; and
 
2    WHEREAS, John Keane is survived by his wife, Rosalie Keane;
35 children, Matthew (Carole) Keane, Patrick (Sonja) Keane,
4Michael (Margaret) Keane, Theresa Keane, and Daniel (Melissa)
5Keane; 7 grandchildren; sister, Eleanora Feltz; and several
6nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
8NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
9we mourn the passing of John Edward Keane, and extend our
10sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
11and loved him; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of John Keane as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
