HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the Grundy County Farm Bureau on the occasion of 100 years of service in their communities; and

WHEREAS, The Grundy County Farm Bureau was created April 1, 1914 by a group of Grundy County farmers who wanted to preserve agriculture and give area farmers a voice in legislative issues; and

WHEREAS, The Grundy County Farm Bureau is a not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to educating community leaders, legislators, consumers, and schools about agriculture; and

WHEREAS, The Grundy County Farm Bureau is comprised of a 12-person Board of Directors who oversee the programs and projects developed by the organization; and

WHEREAS, The Grundy County Farm Bureau aims to enhance opportunities to its members for improving their farms and businesses; and

WHEREAS, The Grundy County Farm Bureau also sponsors area events which enables its members to be further involved in their local communities; and

WHEREAS, The mission of the Grundy County Farm Bureau is to "provide agricultural leadership and enhance the economic success and quality of life for our members and communities"; and

WHEREAS, The Grundy County Farm Bureau is an invaluable organization for the community and area farmers to be a part of; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of the Grundy County Farm Bureau on the occasion of 100 years of serving their communities and feeding the families of Illinois and wish them another 100 years of continued success; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Grundy County Farm Bureau as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
