HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dr. Jennifer Maneja on the occasion of receiving the 2014 Rural Physician of Excellence Award from the Illinois Rural Health Association; and

WHEREAS, One of the biggest healthcare challenges across our nation is the shortage of physicians who practice in rural settings; and

WHEREAS, In 1999, Dr. Maneja earned her medical degree from the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center in the Philippines; in 2005, she completed her residency at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Maneja is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Maneja began working at Clay County Hospital in 2006; since that time, the care and expertise that Dr. Maneja provides has become vital to area residents, especially the elderly and hospice patients; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we commend Dr. Jennifer Maneja for her selfless service to her community and the impact she has made on improving rural health and congratulate her for winning the 2014 Rural Physician of Excellence Award; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. Maneja as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
