HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of David L.
4"Monty" Rea of Whittington, who passed away on October 15,
52014; and
 
6    WHEREAS, David Rea was born on April 5, 1957 in Benton; his
7parents were David R. and Carole (nee Taylor) Rea; he married
8Marsha (nee Whittington) Rea on August 4, 1979 in Benton; and
 
9    WHEREAS, David Rea was in the original group that organized
10the Ewing-Northern Fire Protection District and was the only
11chief of the District from 1992 until his passing; he began
12coal mining in 1979 and most recently worked at the Night Hawk
13Coal Company; he was also an 18-year member of the
14Ewing-Northern Grade School Board and was a member of the Ewing
15Township Board from 1982 until his passing; and
 
16    WHEREAS, David Rea was a member of Whittington Baptist
17Church; and
 
18    WHEREAS, David Rea enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, and
19spending time with his family, especially his grandsons; and
 
20    WHEREAS, David Rea was preceded in death by his

1father-in-law, Noel Whittington, and his grandparents, Verbal
2and Anna Belle Rea and Kenneth and Viola Taylor; and
 
3    WHEREAS, David Rea is survived by his wife, Marsha; 2
4daughters, Whitney (Johnny) Winstead and Haley (Cory) Smith; 3
5grandchildren, Bentley Rea Smith, Blakely Pavin Smith, and
6Sawyer Michael Winstead; his parents, David and Carole Rea; a
7sister, Diana (Keith) Ing; his mother-in-law, J. Irene
8Whittington; a grandmother, Edith Taylor; a brother-in-law,
9Mike (Donna) Whittington; and 4 nieces and nephews, Marci,
10Eric, Lindsay, and Nathaniel; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
12NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
13we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of
14David L. "Monty" Rea; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of David Rea as an expression of our
17sympathy.
