HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the owners and employees of Allegretti's Bakery in Norridge on the occasion of the bakery's 50th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, The history of Allegretti's Bakery began in 1947, when Anthony Allegretti Sr. came back from World War II after having been assigned to baking and cooking for his fellow soldiers; he subsequently decided to create his own recipes and start his own Italian bakery in Chicago, his Italian desserts and specialties becoming a favorite in the neighborhood; and

WHEREAS, As Anthony Allegretti Sr.'s bakery and family grew larger, he decided to move his bakery to a location on Lawrence Avenue in the suburb of Norridge in 1962, where it has remained ever since; after his unexpected passing in 1973, Michael "ACE" Allegretti, with the help of his siblings, Anthony Jr., Tom, Linda, and Carol have kept the business going strong; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the owners and employees of Allegretti's Bakery on the occasion of the bakery's 50th anniversary and thank for their many years of dedicated service to the people of Norridge; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Allegretti's Bakery as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
