HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Laurie Cvengros on the occasion of her retirement after 24 years of dedicated service as Village Clerk of the Village of Beach Park; and

WHEREAS, Laurie Cvengros has been Village Clerk of the Village of Beach Park since its incorporation in 1989; she was elected 6 consecutive times and has served with three different mayors and 18 trustees; and

WHEREAS, During Laurie Cvengros' tenure, the Village has grown from 8,000 to more than 13,400 people; the village's board meetings started out in various local schools, but are now held in the beautiful Village Hall; her proudest achievements have been in the areas of parks and recreation and serving those with special needs; and

WHEREAS, In 1992, Laurie Cvengros became a Certified Municipal Clerk in the State of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Laurie Cvengros served as Vice President and as Secretary of the Lake County Municipal Clerks for 4 years; she also served on the Attorney General's Recreational Opportunities for People of Disabilities Task Force from 2001 to 2004; and

WHEREAS, In 2002, Laurie Cvengros received the prestigious Woman of Achievement Award from the Office of the Lieutenant Governor; and

WHEREAS, Following her retirement, Laurie Cvengros and her husband, Andy, plan to continue to reside in the Village, travel, and enjoy life; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Laurie Cvengros on the occasion of her retirement and wish her continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Laurie Cvengros as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
