HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Timothy "Tim" West, longtime editor of The Naperville Sun, who passed away on May 14, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Tim West was born on September 17, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Maurice and Rosemary West; he received his bachelors degree from Hiram College and his masters degree in British History from the University of Cincinnati; he moved with his family to Naperville in 1968; and

WHEREAS, Tim West joined The Naperville Sun in 1973 and never left; he served as editor, reporter, and columnist during his time working there; his column "All Points West" first appeared on July 24, 1973; his 40th anniversary with The Naperville Sun would have been in June 2013; and

WHEREAS, Tim West enjoyed traveling, reading, photography, and the Rolling Stones; and

WHEREAS, Tim West was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Robert Fritsch; and

WHEREAS, Tim West is survived by his wife, Kathy; his sister, Sue; and numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Tim West, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Tim West as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
