HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Kirk's Pharmacy on the 60th anniversary of its founding; and

WHEREAS, Kirk's Pharmacy was opened by Jim Kirkpatrick on May 10, 1953, in his hometown of Christopher; and

WHEREAS, Kirk's Pharmacy not only dispenses drugs, but at times throughout the years, sold items such as cosmetics, photography supplies, jewelry, toys, and perfumes; in the past, the store also had a soda fountain that provided a hot spot for local teens; and

WHEREAS, Jim Kirkpatrick still works at the pharmacy at the age of 85 but leaves the day-to-day operations to pharmacist Anita Hale, who has been with Kirk's Pharmacy for nearly 29 years; and

WHEREAS, Jim Kirkpatrick attributes the longevity of Kirk's Pharmacy to personalized customer service and free delivery; they have served generations of the same families; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Kirk's Pharmacy on 60 years of serving the community of Christopher and wish Jim Kirkpatrick many more years of success; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Kirk's Pharmacy as an expression of our esteem and respect.
