HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Maurice Eric Prince; and

WHEREAS, Maurice Eric Prince was born on October 29, 1946, to Lillian and James Bearden; he was married to Barbara J. Wimberly on July 24, 1965; and

WHEREAS, Maurice Eric Prince had many interesting chapters in his life, but in the most profound and beloved one he worked in his parents' famous "Chicken Shack" located on the corner of 14th and Ashland in Chicago in the mid to late 1960s; and

WHEREAS, Maurice Eric Prince always appreciated the cultural arts and loved Jazz music and African American Art; and

WHEREAS, Affectionately known as "Eric", Maurice Prince was a beloved son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend and was always one to "think outside the box"; and

WHEREAS, Maurice Eric Prince was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ivan Bearden; and

WHEREAS, Maurice Eric Prince is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children, Carmela, Maurice, Glenn, Lillian, and Christian; and his siblings, Arnold and Sharenne Bearden; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Maurice Eric Prince, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Maurice Eric Prince as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
