HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to recognize Alexis Silkwood on her many accomplishments with her high school softball team; and

WHEREAS, Alexis Silkwood is a 2013 graduate of Marquette Catholic High School and lifelong resident of East Alton; and

WHEREAS, Alexis Silkwood has achieved numerous Illinois High School Association (IHSA) pitching records and milestones, including 124 career wins (1st IHSA All-Time), 34 season wins (2012, tied 3rd IHSA All-Time), 1,907 career strikeouts (1st IHSA All-Time), 501 season strikeouts (2011, 1st IHSA All-Time), 100 career shutouts (1st IHSA All-Time), 28 season shutouts (2012, 1st IHSA All-Time), 15 consecutive shutouts (2013, tied 2nd IHSA All-Time), 54 career no-hitters (1st IHSA All-Time), 19 season no-hitters (2012, 1st IHSA All-Time), 7 consecutive no-hitters (2013, 1st IHSA All-Time), 15 career perfect games (2nd IHSA All-Time), 6 season perfect games (2012, tied 3rd IHSA All-Time), and 2 consecutive perfect games (2013, tied 6th IHSA All-Time); and

WHEREAS, Alexis Silkwood has also achieved numerous hitting records and milestones, including 243 career hits (6th IHSA All-Time), 186 career runs scored (15th IHSA All-Time), 21 season doubles (2011, tied 17th IHSA All-Time), 65 career doubles (tied 3rd IHSA All-Time), 11 season triples (2012, tied 17th IHSA All-Time), 31 career triples (tied 4th IHSA All-Time), and 92 career walks (6th IHSA All-Time); and

WHEREAS, Alexis Silkwood was instrumental in the Marquette Catholic High School softball team reaching 3 IHSA State Finals, where the team took 4th place in 2010, 3rd place in 2011, and 2nd place in 2013; and

WHEREAS, The citizens of East Alton are proud of how Alexis Silkwood has represented the area; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize Alexis Silkwood on her accomplishments with the Marquette Catholic High School softball team and wish her all the best with her future endeavours; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Alexis Silkwood as an expression of our esteem and respect.
