HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor our friend and colleague, Illinois State Representative Pam Roth, for her years of dedicated service to the people of the State of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Representative Pam Roth was born in Washington, Iowa; she grew up embracing the old-fashioned values of hard work and community service embodied in the farming community in which she was raised; and

WHEREAS, Representative Pam Roth earned her degree in business administration and accounting from the University of Nevada in 1997; and

WHEREAS, Representative Pam Roth enjoyed a successful career in the business and accounting industry as a Certified Public Accountant in both the public and private sectors for 12 years; and

WHEREAS, Representative Pam Roth served as a senior financial analyst for a nuclear power facility in Morris; and

WHEREAS, Representative Pam Roth and her husband, Steve Roth, are the parents of 2 boys, Jared and Jacob; and

WHEREAS, Representative Pam Roth was elected to the Board of Education for Saratoga School District 60C in April of 2007 and served as Board President from 2009 to 2011; and

WHEREAS, Representative Pam Roth was involved as a volunteer for the Morris Rotary Club, the Morris Warriors Football organization, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and Cub Scout Pack 476 as the Committee Chair; and

WHEREAS, Representative Pam Roth was appointed to the Illinois House of Representatives in December of 2010 and re-elected in 2012; and

WHEREAS, Representative Pam Roth honorably represented the people of Grundy, LaSalle, Will, Kendall, Kankakee, and Iroquois counties; and

WHEREAS, Representative Pam Roth served with distinction on the Appropriations - Human Services, Elementary and Secondary Education, Insurance, Energy, Business Growth and Incentives, and Consumer Protection Committees; and

WHEREAS, Representative Pam Roth is a graduate of the inaugural class of Edgar Leadership Fellows and was one of only 3 Illinoisans chosen for the Bowhay Institute for Legislative Leadership Development program; and

WHEREAS, Representative Pam Roth has been a leader in the General Assembly on the fight to recognize dyslexia as a true problem affecting many children and adults; and

WHEREAS, Representative Pam Roth placed the health and wellness of her constituents at the forefront of her priorities by hosting annual senior wellness fairs, as well as children's fairs that focused on safety and education; and

WHEREAS, Representative Pam Roth has been a strong voice for fiscal responsibility, consistently voting to slash her own pay and by working to balance the budget while holding the line on taxes to protect the citizens of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, During her 3 years in the Illinois House of Representatives, Representative Pam Roth served as the Chief Sponsor of more than 45 Public Acts and as a co-sponsor for many other Public Acts; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we honor our friend and colleague Illinois State Representative Pam Roth for her years of dedicated service to the people of this State and wish her great success and happiness in her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Representative Pam Roth and her family as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
