HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Marilyn
4"Jean" Giorgi of Rockford, who passed away on November 1, 2013;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Marilyn Giorgi was born on October 29, 1927 in
7Chana; her parents were Harry and Reba Wardecker; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Marilyn Giorgi moved to Rockford when she was in
9the 6th grade; in 1945, she graduated from West High School,
10where she met the love of her life, Amedeo Giorgi; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Marilyn Giorgi was employed at Rockford Dry Goods
12and Montgomery Ward for many years; she worked at the Salad
13Bowl Restaurant with her family for many years; she was also a
14cook for the Rockford School District at Roosevelt School and a
15manager at the Rockford Housing Authority for 27 years; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Marilyn Giorgi was preceded in death by her
17husband, Amedeo; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Marilyn Giorgi is survived by her daughters,
19Kimberly Montalbano and Nancy (Raymond) Derksen; her
20granddaughters, Stephanie (Jeff) Lawson, Tracy (Andy)

1Hortatsos, and Tina (Chris) Badciong; her great-grandchildren,
2Alec, Laina, and Cora Hortatsos, Tyler and Brook Badciong, and
3Hanna Lawson; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Judy (Art)
4Orlandi; her sister-in-law, Josephine Giorgi; her
5brother-in-law, Roland "Gabby" (June) Giorgi; her aunt; and her
6many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
8NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
9we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of
10Marilyn "Jean" Giorgi; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Marilyn Giorgi as an expression of
13our sympathy.
