HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Clarence Todd Taylor of Champaign, who passed away on October 30, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Todd Taylor was the accompanist for the Urbana High School choir and was a well-known gospel musician in the community; and

WHEREAS, Todd Taylor was a master of music and could listen to any song and play it back, whether it was classical, jazz, or gospel; and

WHEREAS, Todd Taylor directed the choir that sang at the local Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration each year and played for the Black Chorus at the University of Illinois; he also served Salem Baptist Church and Church of the Living God, both of Champaign; he also worked with several other churches and church groups; and

WHEREAS, Todd Taylor was able to make any student feel special, even those who may not have felt included in other parts of high school or who had special needs; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Clarence Todd Taylor and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Todd Taylor as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
