HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Richard F. Kotz of
4Glencoe on his retirement from the Illinois Comprehensive
5Health Insurance Plan (CHIP) Board; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Richard Kotz was appointed to the Board on July 1,
71987 and served until October 26, 2012; he is one of the
8original and longest serving members of the Board; he served as
9CHIP Board Secretary and was a member of the Finance Committee
10and Evaluation Committee; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Richard Kotz works as a consultant and is a
12retired attorney; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Richard Kotz is a former Vice-President - Law and
14Deputy General Counsel of Sears, Roebuck, and Company; he is a
15former member of the Illinois Assembly on the Uninsured, former
16President and Executive Committee member and current board
17member of Mental Health America in Illinois, and current
18Treasurer and board member of Health and Disability Advocates;
19he is an Advisory Board Member of the Psychology Doctorate
20Program at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology and is
21a former consultant to the National Institute of Mental Health;
22he is a former Glencoe Village Trustee, former President and

1board member of the Midwest Regional Group, former National
2Board Member of the American Society of Corporate Secretaries,
3and former member of the American and Chicago Bar Associations;
4he served as Chairman of the Securities Law Committee of the
5Chicago Bar Association; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Richard Kotz has been married to Debbie for 48
7years and they have 3 children and several grandchildren; he is
8a graduate of the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce of the
9University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pennsylvania
10School of Law; he has a Masters of Business Arts from The
11American University; he is an avid reader of history novels and
12mystery books; he belongs to a history club and enjoys theatre,
13music, and traveling; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
15NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
16we congratulate Richard F. Kotz on his retirement from the
17Illinois Comprehensive Health Insurance Plan Board and wish him
18the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to Richard Kotz as an expression of our esteem and
21respect.
