HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of John H.
4Gardner, Sr. of West Frankfort, who passed away on December 31,
52013; and
 
6    WHEREAS, John Gardner, Sr. was born on October 3, 1943 in
7Island, Kentucky to Renious and Katie (nee Harrington) Gardner;
8he married Jeri Lingle on May 13, 1961; and
 
9    WHEREAS, John Gardner, Sr. owned and operated General
10Waterproofing and Construction in West Frankfort for 42 years;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, John Gardner, Sr. enjoyed bowling, reading,
13hunting, and fishing; he was on the West Frankfort Park Board
14for over 26 years and started the Junior Wrestling Club program
15in West Frankfort in 1982; and
 
16    WHEREAS, John Gardner, Sr. was preceded in death by his
17parents; his brothers, Roy, Ben, and Junior Gardner; his
18nephew, Ronnie Gardner; his nieces, Loetta Volanski and Joni
19Zigler; his great-nephew, Renious Gardner; and his
20father-in-law, Charles "Red" Lingle, Jr.; and

1    WHEREAS, John Gardner, Sr. is survived by his wife of 52
2years, Jeri; his children, John, Jr. (Nancy), Chuck (Robin),
3Robert Gardner, and Susie (Deb) Gardner; his grandchildren,
4Sara (Danny) Tango, Gabe (Ashley) McCord, Casey (Steve) Slimak,
5and Kaleb, Katie, Keegan, Hannah, and Kassi Gardner; his
6great-grandchildren, Dominic McCord, Braxton Gardner, Bella
7and Brystol Tango, and Henry and Anna Slimak; his sister, Jenny
8(James) Darnell; his sister-in-law, Loretta Gardner; his
9mother-in-law, Irene Lingle; his brothers-in-law, Gary (Cindy)
10Lingle, Larry (Beth) Lingle, and Terry Lingle; and his special
11cousin, Joe (Helen) Harrington; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
13NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
14we mourn the passing of John H. Gardner, Sr., and extend our
15sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
16and loved him; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of John Gardner, Sr. as an expression
19of our deepest sympathy.
